Bio

Feeling international right now, living in Paris for a year with the family. Who could have guessed that humble beginnings in Richmond, VA would have led to chunks of time in New York, London, Paris, Munich (everybody talk about Pop Muzik)? I've been a teacher in East Harlem, Camden & Haringey, Prince George's County and Bethesda, and a writer, mostly of poetry, since the humble beginning. In 2005, after birthing two human babies, my book of children's poetry Squeeze: Poems from a Juicy Universe was born. I'm enjoying my 17th year with my partner--we met during that long-ago stint in Munich (engage au-pair girl fantasies now) and have a colorful history.
